Parma claim they were 'very close' to agreeing Balotelli deal
Mario Balotelli's time at Liverpool hasn't gone to plan so far, with the Italian scoring just two goals for the Reds since arriving from AC Milan in the summer - and now, new Parma president Ermir Kodra has confirmed to Albanian TV channel Supersport that the Serie A side were close to signing Balotelli from Liverpool.
"We have signed some quality figures, but are seeking for other top players," Kodra told Supersport. "We were close – very close – to signing Mario Balotelli, but in the end were unable to complete the negotiations. However, our director of sport Pietro Leonardi is working to bring in the striker we need."
Coutinho poised for contract extension?
Philippe Coutinho has recently hit a rich vein of form, and Liverpool seem ready to reward the Brazilian with a new contract.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are closing in on agreement with the Brazilian, which will see him extend his stay on Merseyside for another four-and-a-half years.
Youngster stays until 2017
Whilst one contract appears to be in the pipeline, one was completed today, with youngster Jordan Williams agreeing a new two-year contract until 2017.
The 19-year-old midfielder was delighted to extend his stay, and took to Twitter to break the news...
