Liverpool media round-up, Henderson involved in bust-up, competition for Milner

A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Thursday morning.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson was involved in a bust-up with Chelsea forward Diego Costa according to several national newspaper reports.

The reports have said the midfielder had to be separated from the Spain international after the first leg of their League Cup semi-final between the two sides at Anfield on Tuesday night in the tunnel after the game, as they reportedly continued a feud from on the field.

Raheem Sterling says he is not trying to take up the tag as Liverpool's main man for when Steven Gerrard leaves the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

Sterling's role could take on greater importance next season but he seems to place emphasis on the team.

He said: "I try not to think about that too much. Everyone in the team contributes and I'm no different. We are a team.

"I'm not trying to pick up a 'main-man status' this season. As long as the team wins and we get good performances, that's all that matters to me."

Liverpool have yet again been linked with a move for Manchester City midfielder James Milner, who is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail has said the Reds have enquired about the possibility of signing the versatile player in the summer transfer window, but are likely to face competition from Inter Milan and Valencia.

Finally, Liverpool have moved into the top 10 of the football money list that is complied by Deloitte, moving up to ninth place.

Like the rest of the Premier League, the Reds benefited from the new television deals from last season, with their total revenue exceeding £250 million. The figures were based on the 2013/14 season.
