343 Industries taking cautious steps to overhaul The Master Chief Collection’s matchmaking
The next content update due for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is large enough to warrant a beta test before going on release.
According to devs 343 Industries the impending update will implement major changes to matchmaking and the party system. Veering on the side of caution after a launch fraught with issues, 343 is opening up a test however “to ensure the official release is the best possible experience for all players.”
If you’ve opted in for Xbox One beta testing via the Xbox One Preview Program, own a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, live in North America and are among those that have “the highest levels of engagement” with the game, then there’s a chance you’ll be chosen
Selected testers will need to be available to play in the evenings from Friday 23rd January to 26th January. Once the update has been installed, testers won’t be able to take part in general matching and instead will only be matched against other players in the beta. A second patch will then follow after the test ends to reactivate regular matchmaking.
