The Tottenham Hotspur striker could stay at White Hart Lane beyond this January, so it's time to start giving him game time.
We've been here before with Emmanuel Adebayor.
Around about this time last year, the Togolese striker turned the style on for Tottenham, effectively extending his White Hart Lane career with a fabulous run of goals for Tim Sherwood's side.
Now, it will take just as huge an effort for Adebayor to transform his Spurs career once again. It seems he loves putting himself in this position.
Some fans have lost patience with the 30-year-old, with boos ringing out as he came on in the second half against Sunderland at the weekend. Others, however, found his on-field approach refreshing.
They claimed the Tottenham striker actually showed the willingness to be a team player, providing encouraging touches in the final third.
And, if Adebayor is in that frame of mind and staying in north London beyond this January, tonight is the perfect opportunity for him to start saving his Spurs career yet again.
Mauricio Pochettino didn't pick him in the FA Cup against Burnley or in the Premier League against Sunderland and Tottenham won both those games - so he was justified with his selection in that sense. Tonight against Sheffield United, however, is the perfect time to start Adebayor.
On paper, the Blades provide a tough challenge for Pochettino's men as giant killers who have struck time after time. But, on paper, Adebayor is one of the best-traveled strikers in world football.
If he is serious about his Tottenham stay, give him a chance in the semi-final and see what the 30-year-old can do against lower-league opposition to begin with.
