Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has been speaking about the upcoming Capital One Cup clash with Sheffield United in comments published by the Daily Express.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men take on the League One side at White Hart Lane in the semi-final first leg this evening, and Walker’s family have divided loyalties as avid Blades fans.
In the interview, Walker revealed that while most of his family are in a win-win situation, with either their hometown club or their relative’s current side ultimately making it to Wembley there is one person whose allegiance was chosen for him.
Speaking about his three-year-old son, Roman, Walker said, “No doubt about this one, he’s a Blade! I’m a Blade so he’s a Blade.”
Walker recently returned to first-team action having spent a substantial amount of the times on the side-lines due to a pelvic injury. But now he is back and surely keen to make up for lost time.
A trip to Wembley will certainly be a good way to begin this next phase of his career, not that all his family members will be feeling the same way when Tottenham host Sheffield United this evening.
