Tottenham Hotspur morning round-up: Conflict of interest for Walker, blow over Berahino

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has explained to the Daily Express the split loyalties in his family ahead of the League Cup game against Sheffield United.

Walker, who played for the Blades before his move to Tottenham, has had to get 17 tickets for friends and family who will be in the away end for the game this evening.

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace has told the Daily Express the Baggies don’t want to sell Saido Berahino.

The England under-21 striker has been widely linked with a move to Spurs, but Peace has reiterated his claim that the player won’t be going anywhere.

“I said in the autumn the club had no interest in selling Saido and that remains the case,” he said.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough says he’s not convinced Tottenham will rest key players in the League Cup semi-final this evening.

Spurs have a high ratio of matches over the coming weeks and Mauricio Pochettino could rotate his squad to try and keep everyone fresh.

Clough has stressed to the Sheffield Star the importance of Spurs reaching a final at Wembley.
