Sunderland are interested in signing Godfred Donsah, who is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to the London Evening Standard.
The report claims that Donsah has been identified as a potential star of the future and it appears that his form in Serie A is not going unnoticed.
The 18-year-old has only made 12 senior appearances to date, but he is still catching the eye with a series of powerful showings in Italy's top flight.
Donsah currently plays for Cagliari, who are managed by Gianfranco Zola, and he looks set to play a major part for the club if he stays there for the remainder of the season.
Cagliari are currently battling against the drop and the loss of one of their main talents would be a blow to the side as they look to preserve their status in Serie A.
The Evening Standard insists that Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion are also tracking the progress of the Ghanian, as interest rises in his signature.
