Report: QPR considering loan move for Dani Osvaldo

The £12.8 million Southampton signing could return to the Premier League.

It seems Harry Redknapp has a specific transfer strategy at Queens Park Rangers this January, according to the London Evening Standard.

That strategy appears to involve taking outcasts - or simply players enjoying less playing time - at other clubs and signing them on loan at Loftus Road.

QPR have already done so with Mauro Zarate at West Ham United, while the Standard have now linked them with a loan move for Southampton forward Dani Osvaldo.

The Italian, signed by Southampton for £12.8 million, has found it tough at St Mary's, pretty much failing to adapt full stop. As such, he is currently on loan in Italy with Inter Milan - but the Standard's report claims he is unwanted even there.

And Redknapp is said to be considering the option of giving Osvaldo a second chance to shine in the English top flight should he return from his loan spell at Inter.

Charlie Austin aside, QPR are in dire need of goals and the Southampton loanee did at least have a track record of scoring goals in the past. Whether the Osvaldo that so spectacularly underwhelmed at Southampton is QPR's answer is another matter, however...
