Real Sociedad are interested in signing Everton attacking midfielder Stephen Pienaar, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Sociedad, who are now managed by former Toffees boss David Moyes, are on the lookout for January additions and they allegedly believe that Pienaar could represent a decent option.
Moyes knows all about Pienaar's talents having worked with him at Goodison Park and he seemingly feels that he would be an upgrade on some members of his current squad.
The experienced South African is out injured at the moment, but the La Liga side are still hopeful of closing the transfer before the end of the month.
Pienaar has struggled for appearances this campaign and there is a thought that his time on Merseyside could be coming to an end.
With Roberto Martinez investing heavily in the squad, Pienaar has lost his way slightly and looks, at best, a rotational player now.
At Socieded he would likely be given a more pivotal role, though, and this promise of first-team football could be persuasive for a player who is heading into the twilight of his career.
