A report this afternoon claims Leeds United have agreed a deal to bring a new defender to Elland Road.

According to Italian website TMW, Leeds United have agreed a deal to bring Sol Bamba to Elland Road from his current club Palermo.

The report claims an agreement is in place to take the player to Elland Road, initially on loan but with the option of a permanent deal in the future.

Bamba is a 30-year-old centre-back who has previously played for Leicester City, Hibernian and Dunfermline Athletic among others.

The TMW report claims that negotiations moved on yesterday and that a formal announcement will be made in the coming days.

If the move has been agreed as claimed, it is another welcome boost for a Leeds side who enjoyed their first win in quite some time on Tuesday, when a Luke Murphy goal secured a 1-0 win against Championship leaders Bournemouth.

The same report claims Granddi N’Goyi will also join Leeds on loan this month and it seems that manager Neil Redfearn could have more players to call on sooner rather than later.
