Last night's encounter between the two sides at Anfield was a hard-fought, and they do it all again on Tuesday.
Eden Hazard had given the visitors the lead from the penalty spot after being brought down by Emre Can early in the first half but that goal was cancelled out by a solo effort from Raheem Sterling after the break.
Neither side will be disappointed with the result as it remains up for grabs during at Stamford Bridge next week, though Liverpool may perhaps rue a missed opportunity having been denied several times by Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal.
There was the odd contentious refereeing decision with referee Martin Atkinson in charge of proceedings at Anfield. Liverpool have bemoaned the failure to award them a penalty for a Diego Costa handball, and there were claims that Thibaut Courtois may have handled the ball outside his own penalty area.
