Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was impressed by Liverpool in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
He took to Twitter after the Capital One Cup semi-final draw to praise three players, although one belonged to Chelsea.
Great game Liverpool were excellent second half, Courtois, Sterling & Coutinho top drawer!— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) January 20, 2015
We took a look at how the performances of the three players picked out measured:
Sterling was truly outstanding against Chelsea, showing he is a player for the big occasion. He scored Liverpool's equaliser and stretched Chelsea's defence all night. He had five shots on goal, with two on target and netting once.
The England international created four chances and made four successful dribbles, completing 78 per cent of his passes, while having to contend with being fouled on three occasions.
Brazilian attacker Coutinho had one of his best games of the season. He also created four goalscoring chances, while recording six successful dribbles.
He had four shots on goal, with one on target, but was dispossessed five times by his opponents, more frequently than any other Liverpool player.
Carragher's selection of Courtois says a lot about Liverpool's dominance, with the Reds have 19 shots compared to Chelsea's two. Courtois had to face seven of these which were on target, and only a clinical effort from Sterling was able to beat him.
He was put under big pressure even in possession, finding a teammate with only 28 per cent of his distribution.
