The midfielder was in sensational form against Cameroon.
Mali got their African Cup of Nations campaign off to a level start, with a 1-1 draw against Cameroon. The West African side are in the reported 'Group of Death' alongside the Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Guinea - and after matchday one all four teams are on one point, after the Ivory Coast and Guinea also drew 1-1.
The wide man has been linked with several moves in recent times. His contract expires at the end of the season and Sky Sports have been linking him with a move to Aston Villa since October.
Yesterday however he was in terrific form for his nation in Equatorial Guinea. His pace and power was, as usual, in full sight and his delivery sensational.
Sako's performance however was noted by Wolves fans on Twitter. Many were happy to see their star in full flow. Others, were not best pleased, worrying that any interested scouts might see the performance and pluck their beloved mercurial talent away from Molineux.
Here is some of the best reaction from Wolves fans who tuned into the game...
Bakary Sako has to be the most naturally gifted footballer Wolves have had over the last decade at least, surely? Give him a new contract!!!— Levi Jordan (@LeviOasis17) January 20, 2015
Timeline full of Bakary Sako which is good, only 18 months ago it was full of people wanting him to leave and go to Forest. #wwfc— Andy D (@AnnoDomini79) January 20, 2015
I think I'm going to have a cry when Bakary Sako leaves Wolves in the summer, best player we've had for a while.— Jack (@Jack_e1) January 20, 2015
To Premier League managers: Bakary Sako is never this good at Wolves. Don't bother watching him, don't send scouts. You don't want him #wwfc— Stewart Bloor (@TheAnglingRev) January 20, 2015
Bakary Sako's been the best player on the pitch so far. Anyone else agree, or am I watching through Old Gold tinted specs?— Johnny Gallagher (@Johnny_G2012) January 20, 2015
Can't understand wolves fans wanting Mali to win the sooner sako comes back the better.— Garry russell wwfc (@rusno1) January 20, 2015

I'm supporting Mali this AFCON (cause of B Sako obvs) but I also hope they go out in the group stages and Sako is back at Wolves VERY soon— Jamie (@West_Jam_United) January 20, 2015
