According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Ham United youngster Oscar Borg is at the centre of a good old hypothetical tug-of-war between England and Turkey for his international footballing allegiance.
The 16-year-old left-sided midfielder is developing a big reputation in the game and while he is yet to make his senior debut for the Hammers it appears two countries are already keen to tie him down.
As detailed in the report, Borg was born in Surrey but he is eligible to represent Turkey due to the fact that his grandmother was born in Istanbul.
Borg had been tipped to move to Manchester United last summer and even had a trial at the club, but for now he remains at Upton Park and it will be interesting to see what his future has in store.
One thing is certain, if he is anywhere near as good as his burgeoning reputation suggests he is destined for a fine career in the game.
The question is: Which country will ultimately benefit from his services?
