Arsenal are preparing to swoop for Paris Saint-Germain prospect Jean-Kevin Augustin, according to ESPN FC.
Augustin, 17, is out of contract at the Parc des Princes in the summer, and is understood to be keen on a move after seeing the Ligue 1 champions’ extravagant spending block his path to the first-team.
The promising forward is still to make an appearance for Laurent Blanc’s side, despite being named on the bench on four occasions, but his undoubted potential has attracted interest from a host of major European clubs.
The Daily Mirror reported earlier this month that West Ham United are keeping close tabs on the France Under-18 international’s contract situation, while the likes of Juventus, Roma, Benfica and Porto are also understood to be among the interested parties.
However, Arsenal are now said to have entered the race for Augustin’s signature, and ESPN FC have even claimed that initial talks with his agent have been held.
It’s added that the Gunners could land the French teenager for a nominal fee this month, or sign him to a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer move to the Emirates Stadium.
