Mike Ashley has been warned over his request to use Ibrox as security for a loan.
Requisitioner Scott Murdoch has told the Glasgow Evening Times, Mike Ashley doesn’t know what he’s let himself in for at the Scottish club.
Murdoch has explained he feels Ashley has misjudged things by requesting Ibrox as security for a loan given to the club, which leaves the Scottish club’s fans with plenty of hard feeling towards the 50-year-old.
“He doesn't know what he's let himself in for by looking for Ibrox as security,” said Murdoch.
“He's misjudged the strong feelings among the Rangers supporters on this matter and has failed to appreciate the consequences of his actions.”
This isn’t the first time Ashley has ruffled feathers when it’s come to the most historic British stadiums in the UK.
The Daily Mail reported fury from Newcastle United supporters when he took the decision to rename St James Park, which shows a track record of misjudging the current feeling of supporters at a club where he has a big business interest.
Rangers fans would likely be against something similar happening to their club’s home as Ashley’s involvement and financial commitment to them deepens, as he looks to protect the financial investments he’s already made.
