Leeds United are said to be in the hunt for Celtic striker Anthony Stokes.
Leeds United are hoping to sign Celtic striker Anthony Stokes in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
Stokes is reportedly keen to move back to England and Leeds allegedly feel that he would enhance their current attacking line-up considerably.
However, complications are emerging over the fact that Leeds are under a transfer embargo. The club are unable to make any permanent transfer during the current window, meaning any deal that is agreed will have to be a loan one at first.
Whether Celtic would be keen to do such a deal remains to be seen, as Stokes has been one of their key performers this season.
Although the 26-year-old has not scored as many goals as he would have been hoping this campaign - with a total of eight to his name - he has played 29 times and remains a big part of Ronny Deila's plans.
Cardiff City have previously been linked with Stokes in the Daily Mail and it remains to be seen whether they will renew interest now competition is increasing for his signature.
