Kevin Mirallas missed what would have been a match-winning penalty in the goalless draw with West Brom on Monday night.
The Belgian won the first half spot kick, before telling regular penalty taker Leighton Baines that he would be taking it.
He then missed, much to the dismay of manager Roberto Martinez, who substituted him at half-time.
The international star did not shy away after the game though, when it would have been easy to jump on the team bus and keep a low profile.
The 27-year-old took time outside Goodison Park to sign autographs for forgiving fans, at least giving a select few a little something to smile about.
The draw sees Everton move into 12th position in the Premier League, but they are four points off 11th placed Newcastle, the same distance as they are away from the relegation zone below them.
A win would have been valuable for the Toffees, who travel to Crystal Palace next, who sit level with them on points, a side who derailed their top four push late last season. After that their next league game is the Merseyside Derby at Anfield on February 7.
