Reds fans were left disappointed after it was confirmed that Andy Reid had suffered a set-back in his comeback from a groin injury, but that blow should have been softened slightly by the fact that two of their key players are close to fitness.
Michael Mancienne and Matty Fryatt have both been ruled out with injuries of late, but Pearce said today that they should be back in time to face Milwall.
That game comes in just under a fortnight, after Forest's match with Fulham tomorrow, and Pearce is clearly looking forward to the break.
"We have a 10-day break because the game has been brought forward," he told Forest's official website.
“We can give the players a couple of days off after this, and hopefully that will give the likes of [Michael] Mancienne and [Matty] Fryatt, to name but two, the opportunity to come back into contention for the Millwall game.”
The duo's upcoming comeback does not make up for Reid's injury, but it could still be important for the side to have two of their more established stars back.
Mancienne and Fryatt are clearly very able Championship players and any manager in the division would be delighted to have them back in their squad.
Forest will have to cope without the pair for one more game, though, as they host Fulham looking to collect three points.
The Reds have found wins hard to come by of late, but a victory over their local rivals Derby County in their last fixture means they go into the contest with momentum and they will be hopeful of making it six points out of six.
