A round-up of how Liverpool’s loan stars got on in their most recent outings:
Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday courtesy of goals from Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert.
It was a win that ensured the Reds continued to look up in the early stages of 2015, but while the first0-team were doing the business a number of younger players were seeking to impress elsewhere.
Here we take a look at how some of those Liverpool loanees fared.
Divock Origi – Lille
Lille lost 1-0 to Lorient at the weekend with Liverpool loanee Divock Origi not featuring in the match-day squad.
The teenager has scored four goals and provided three assists so far this season.
Luis Alberto – Malaga
Malaga lost 2-0 at Sevilla on Sunday with Luis Alberto coming on as a second-half substitute for the visitors.
The 22-year-old had just 12 minutes to impact the match and he was unable to do so. In recent times Alberto has been used this way, featuring for just 70 minutes in Malaga’s last four league matches.
Joao Teixeira – Brighton & Hove Albion
Joao Teixeira has made 20 appearances for Brighton so far this season but on Saturday he had a watching brief.
The 22-year-old Portuguese player was an unused substitute for the match against Brentford that the Seagulls lost 1-0.
Rafa Paez – Bologna
Rafa Paez had to make do with a place on the bench for Italian side Bologna at the weekend as he watched his side draw 2-2 with Frosinone.
The 20-year-old centre-back started the match against Catania but was back on the bench a week, unable to add to his seven senior appearances to date.
Andre Wisdom - West Bromwich Albion
Andre Wisdom continues to impress for West Bromwich Albion, raising questions over why he was not kept at Anfield this season.
That debate could rage on and on but whatever the reasoning, the 21-year-old did another sterling job at right-back for the Baggies when they took on Everton on Monday evening.
Wisdom helped his side to a clean-sheet in a 0-0 draw, taking his appearance total to the season to 22.
