Nigel Pearson has told the Leicester Mercury that he is looking to add to his squad during the January transfer window, not deplete it by allowing players to move on.
Strength in depth will be crucial from this point on, with it important for Pearson to have options to cover injuries, suspensions and dips in form.
It is for that reason that he is reluctant to sanction any outgoings.
Chris Wood is among those to have been linked with a move elsewhere, with the New Zealand international reported to be a loan target for Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town by the Ipswich Star.
Pearson is aware of the rumours but insists there is no substance to them.
He told the Leicester Mercury: "At the moment it's about adding to the squad, not taking away, but I don't rule anything out.
"This window is about what we have done so far and adding to the squad. With recent injuries, it is important to go into the remainder of the season with as many options as possible. We're not in any great hurry to move anyone on."

While eager to keep Wood on his books at the King Power Stadium, Pearson has overlooked the 23-year-old on a regular basis this season.
His only top-flight goal of the campaign came on the opening weekend against Everton and he has been restricted to just six appearances in all competitions.
