Low-cost global internet could be on the cards if the reports are legitimate.

SpaceX, the space rocket builders, are close to receiving a large investment from Google to help create internet satellites.

The deal is still reportedly in the discussion phase, but it hopes to begin the creation of low-cost global internet which could be beamed down to billions across the world who don't have access right now.

There is no confirmation on the size of the investment Google are said to be thinking of, but a person familiar with the company said they value SpaceX at over $10 billion, so the investment Google, and other investors, will make is "very large."
