Crystal Palace star Damien Delaney has told the Croydon Advertiser he feels Jason Puncheon is on fire at the moment.
Puncheon has bagged two Premier League goals in his last two games, which has left his Palace teammate purring over his current form.
“Jason is on flames right now, he’s a match-winner,” said Delaney.
“Last season he did it several times for us. This year he wasn’t in the team for whatever reason, but he’s your match winner.”
The goals have proven to be decisive, with his strikes against Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley both proving crucial to wins, as the side won both games by a margin of just one goal.
Palace now face a very difficult game against Southampton in the FA Cup before they end January in the Premier League with a match against Everton.
Palace boss Alan Pardew could choose to keep Puncheon in the side for both games because he offers a threat in different ways.
His pace is double edged in the respect that it can help the team counter attack, while pushing defenders onto the back foot when the club builds pressure in games.
Delaney says he’s on fire and it’s now time for him to create an inferno and drive the side forward over the coming weeks.
