Chelsea star Eden Hazard highlights the best thing about Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard have been two of Chelsea’s key players this season.

The Blues are sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and Eden Hazard has told the official Chelsea magazine that his partnership with Cesc Fabregas has been a key part of their success.

Fabregas has 15 assists in 21 Premier League games, and the football has been a joy to behold when the Spaniard has been dictating play. Despite his impressive debut season at Stamford Bridge, it has actually been overshadowed by the play of Eden Hazard, who, whilst not statistically as good this season as Fabregas, has wowed audiences with attacking flair and an insatiable work rate.

Along with centre-forward Diego Costa, who has 17 goals in 19 games, the trio have become the three key attacking figures in the Blues ranks, allowing other members of the team to fulfil other duties. The pressure has been taken off Oscar to perform both attacking and defensive duties, and he has benefitted because of it, whilst Willian and Branislav Ivanovic have worked on their own partnership to create a fluid right side of the pitch.

All in all, the purchase of Fabregas has been the binding that has brought the team together, and will be the key to the Blues challenging for the quadruple this term, and Hazard believes there is one thing about the Spaniard that makes him so good and easy to play alongside.

Speaking to the official Chelsea magazine, and quoted by the Independent, Hazard said: “With Cesc, you don’t need to work for years together, we just needed one game and one training session and we knew each other.

“It’s a pleasure to play with him because he knows everything about football. He’s a brain – you can see that because [at the time of writing] he has 14 assists in the league already, in January. He’s very good and he has the same vision as me, so I like playing with him.”

Although singling out Fabregas for praise, Hazard did claim that all the attacking players in the Blues’ ranks were well suited to one another.

He added: “I have a good feeling with all the other offensive players here. The way the team plays is very good for us to find space, to find the solution, and between my team-mates and me there is a very good connection.”
