Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas was impressed with Arsenal’s performance against Manchester City, according to one of his posts on social networking site Twitter on Sunday.
North London outfit Arsenal got the better of defending English champions City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
Goals from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud proved enough for the Gunners to register a 2-0 win against the Citizens and maintain their challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal’s performance against City was superb and Arsene Wenger’s side deservedly won the match, with Jenas full of praise for them on Twitter.
Arsenal just look way to mobile for city here! Been there most complete performance this season so far.— Jermaine Jenas (@jjenas8) January 18, 2015
Perhaps Jenas is right in his assertion that Arsenal’s performance against City on Sunday was “complete”.
The Gunners were better than Manuel Pellegrini’s team in every department, and they were actually strong defensively.
The win in Manchester means that Arsenal are now fifth in the Premier League table with 39 points from 22 matches, just a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Interestingly, Wenger’s team are only three points behind Southampton, who are third. Perhaps Arsenal could even finish third in the Premier League this season.
