Tottenham evening media round-up, Soldado attracts Italian interest, rumours surrounding winger

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur in the media this Monday evening.

Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado is attracting interest from Roma, TalkSport reports citing reports from Italian newspaper Leggo.

It's not the first time Soldado has been linked with a move away from the club as he has struggled to find the net on a regular basis for Spurs ever since his arrival from Valencia.

The London Evening Standard reports that chairman Daniel Levy may launch a bid for Tottenham to sign Everton winger Kevin Mirallas after having an inquiry into the Belgian rejected.

The Standard's report suggests that Aaron Lennon could be offered as a makeweight in the deal, with Spurs reportedly desperate to offload their winger.

Tottenham got back to winning ways in the Premier League at the weekend thanks to a 2-1 win over Sunderland at White Hart Lane.

Defender Jan Vertonghen has told the club's website the victory was deserved, saying: "They had a free-kick in the first half and Hugo had to make two good saves in the second half and that was it, I thought we did well.

"We showed character and fitness and we can say on the pitch now ‘let’s wait a couple of minutes for a last-minute goal!’ It’s always the biggest celebration!

"Christian has the quality to do it and I’m happy for him because he’s a hard worker and a great player, he can do it time and time again."
