Leeds United host Championship leaders Bournemouth tomorrow night and the stats don’t make for attractive reading if you’re a Leeds fans.
The teams couldn’t be in more contrasting positions with Eddie Howe’s side continuing to defy the cynics at the top of the table, while Leeds represent a huge team battling to avoid getting drawn into a relegation dogfight.

On the surface of things, it’s difficult to see where Bournemouth can lose this game.
They’re way out ahead in terms of goals scored and conceded, which shows form at both ends of the pitch, and they’re also passing the ball much more than Neil Redfearn’s team.
Bournemouth also seem to be playing wider football, with more crosses which shows they’re more than just a team that likes to dominate possession and penetrate side’s through the middle of the back four.
Howe also seems to have more of an effect in terms of encouraging his players to take on opponents, put them on the back foot and keep them pinned back.
The only area where Leeds are ahead based on the above stats is in terms of the number of tackles they’re making at the moment.
Leeds seems to be breaking up the play much more effectively and if they can do that tomorrow night, distribute well and keep a clean sheet, they’re in with a good chance of getting a result.
