Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told talkSPORT the rest of January will be quiet for the club on the transfer front.
Liverpool, just like any other top flight club, are linked with some good players by the rumour mill, with Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema mentioned as a possible target in the Liverpool Echo earlier this morning.
However, the boss has played down the idea that his team will be doing any big money deals before the deadline on February 2.
“It will be quiet. I’ve said before we wouldn’t be doing much over the course of January,” said Rodgers.
“There are players who are linked with Liverpool all the time. That may be agents looking to get their player a move. For us, it will be pretty quiet.”
Liverpool spent big last summer with the main aim being to improve the playing squad and Rodgers suggests that any more big money spending won’t happen until the summer.
It’s important to note that Liverpool still have key players to return from injury with Daniel Sturridge among those who can give the side a boost in a key area, when he’s back in action.
