Arsenal morning round-up: Paulista speaks on Gunners interest, Wenger on star's impact

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista has been quoted by the Guardian giving his thoughts on interest from Arsenal.

The 24-year-old has confirmed that he’s spoken with his agent about interest from Arsenal ahead of a possible move before the end of this month.

However, he’s also stayed professional suggesting his ‘head is at Villarreal’ at the moment.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been quoted by the Evening Herald praising the way Alexis Sanchez has adapted.

The Chilean made a big money move from Barcelona last summer and has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.

“He is one of the faster adaptors to the Premier League I've seen. I believe it's because he feels well accepted by the other players,” said Wenger.

Sanchez has scored 17 goals in all competitions for the Gunners so far.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has told the club’s website what he thought the key was to Arsenal’s victory against Manchester City.

The Gunners secured a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium yesterday, with a performance which is attracting them plenty of praise.

“We stayed calm over the whole 90 minutes and just dropped a bit deeper,” said the German centre back.
