Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna did not feature against his former club.

Manchester City disappointed against Arsenal on Sunday, and the player they bought from the Gunners in the summer did not feature.

French international Bacary Sagna was an unused substitute, as he has been for much of the 2014/15 season.

Sagna has made only five Premier League starts, and one appearance as a substitute to date, with a further five appearances coming in cup competitions.

He signed for City in the summer from Arsenal, having been a regular in their FA Cup winning side, and a first choice defender at right-back whenever fit at the Gunners.

Sagna was quoted in The Mirror at the end of last year explaining his choice to move to City as he felt his new side have a better chance of winning the Premier League title.

Eight points ahead of the Gunners despite yesterday's 2-0 loss, Sagna could argue he was still correct in that choice, yet can he really be satisfied?

The 31-year-old is second choice to the excellent Pablo Zabaleta, and should City usurp Chelsea and win the league, will he really be able to say he contributed valuably if his situation continues as it is?

He is not the only Arsenal star to quit City in recent years. Emmanuel Adebayor spell there did not pan out well, but Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy have both won trophies. Nasri missed the loss to Arsenal through injury and City really missed his creativity.

Sagna sitting on the sidelines saw a number of Arsenal fans on Twitter poke fun at his expense, here's a look at what they had to say...
