Alvaro Negredo came to Valencia’s rescue yesterday by netting his side’s winner in an enthralling 3-2 La Liga victory over Almeria at the Mestalla.
The Manchester City loan forward towered above opposition defenders to head home Jose Gaya’s 83rd minute cross and give Nuno’s men all three points, as can be seen below.
The victory lifts Valencia to third place in the domestic standings, leapfrogging Atletico Madrid who play against Granda at the Estadio Vicente Calderon later today.
Since returning to his homeland this season, the 29-year-old has scored twice for Valencia in seven starts; he also netted against Granada last month.
Negredo only had one season to prove his worth in the Premier League and scored nine goals in City’s title success last term.
