Everton welcome West Bromwich Albion to Goodison Park on Monday evening with just one point and two places separating them in the Premier League table.
The Toffees were expected to build on their brilliant previous campaign but things have not gone according to plan in Roberto Martinez’s second season in charge. The Toffees have just 22 points to date and they will have to be at their best to beat a West Brom side experiencing the Tony Pulis factor.
That said the Baggies have not won any of their last four matches against Everton and the visitors have only ever won once at Goodison Park in the Premier League era.
But with the Toffees searching for their first win in eight games, could this be the time West Brom get one over the Merseyside club in their own backyard?
Everton injury concerns: Sylvain Distin has a 50 per cent chance of recovering from a groin injury while Tony Hibbert is a doubt with a knock.
Everton absences: Tim Howard is out with a calf injury, Aiden McGeady is suspended and Leon Osman is out with a foot problem. James McCarthy is also out with a hamstring injury while Steven Pienaar is lacking match fitness and Darron Gibson is unavailable until the end of the month.
West Brom injury concerns: Jonas Olsson is a doubt with an Achilles problem.
West Brom absences: Youssuf Mulumbu is unavailable due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
