We assess the performances of Arsenal's players against Manchester City today.
David Ospina 7 - showed good handling and came off his line well to claim crosses. Just what Arsenal have needed with Wojciech Szczesny's antics.
Hector Bellerin 7 - shows great speed to get forward in attack but also limited James Milner in the first half, which resulted in Milner being substituted. Growing by the week.
Laurent Koscielny 7 - wasn't really troubled, but coped well with the ever dangerous Sergio Aguero well in a strong display.
Per Mertesacker 7 - strong in the air and wasn't really troubled in behind, which is where he has had problems this season. Led the defence well.
Nacho Monreal 7 - won the all important penalty in the first half and handled his compatriot Jesus Navas well out on the left flank.
Francis Coquelin 8 - continues to impress, protecting the back four with grit and great defensive work. With six interceptions and 11 clearances, the Frenchman is exactly what Arsenal have been missing.
Santi Cazorla 10 - simply majestic. Every time he got the ball, something happened. City couldn't get close to him, as the Spaniard continues his remarkable run of form.
Aaron Ramsey 6 - gave the ball away a little too frequently, and just doesn't look to be the player that impressed so much last season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 7 - had a couple of impressive runs but didn't quite get anything going in the final third.
Alexis Sanchez 7 - didn't get on the scoresheet and wasn't at his brilliant best but still posed a threat to the City defence throughout.
Olivier Giroud 8 - led the line well and took his goal superbly, guiding his header past Joe Hart to win the game.
Tomas Rosicky 6 - come on with 25 minutes to play and kept the ball moving without doing anything of real note.
Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Flamini also came on, but touched the ball just eight times between them, so had too little time to make an impact.
