Spanish player Suso has sent a special message to Liverpool fans following the news that he is now an AC Milan player.
The Reds announced the deal on their official website on Saturday morning and, shortly after, the player himself took to social media to post a photograph of himself standing next to a Milan logo, along with a couple of messages, one regarding his past and the other his future.
“Very happy to become a AC Milan player,” the 21-year-old wrote. “Really happy to play for a very important club; starting a new history there.”
He then had a special message for the fans who have cheered him on since he arrived at Anfield as a teenager.
“Thank you very much everyone for the messages and all Liverpool fans for all these years,” he added.
Suso has never really had the chance to show what he can do on a consistent basis at Anfield.
He showed glimpses of his undeniable talent but a recent groin injury meant he was side-lined for much of this season; a time when – in the absence of Daniel Sturridge and following the departure of Luis Suarez – his creativity would surely have been welcomed by manager Brendan Rodgers.
As it was, the player whose Liverpool contract expired in just a few short months ultimately swapped Merseyside for Milan, and he will now get the chance to show Serie A what fans of the Premier League saw all too briefly.
