Deila was speaking to reporters after the SPL win at Hamilton.
The Bhoys boss praised his side's work-rate after they (albeit temporarily) closed the gap on SPL leaders Aberdeen, thanks to goals from Adam Matthews and Liam Henderson.
Matthews, in particular, was the subject of praise from Norwegian Deila, as fans were impressed with the defender's overall performance - while his goal was of a spectacular nature.
Nevertheless, the Celtic manager did not neglect the rest of his squad when it came to his post-match comments, with Deila acknowledging the tough nature of the game and the work his side subsequently had to put in to take home the three points.
“It was a tough game and you can see why Hamilton take as many points as they have. Coming here is difficult and they had a couple of chances in set play," the Celtic boss told reporters.
“We scored two very nice goals and I hope Adam Matthews continues to do that. It’ll make it a very fun season.
“We worked really hard so it was a good victory and an important victory and I think the boys showed character and discipline for 90 minutes and we scored two great goals as well.”
This was Celtic's first game since the winter break - when the Hoops went on a warm-weather training camp in Gran Canaria.
And so far, so good in 2015, with Deila's side having won two out of two since the New Year.
