Nacer Chadli says he never wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur

The Belgian forward has been in great form this season.

One player who has been in great form for Tottenham Hotspur this season is Nacer Chadli. The Belgian international signed for Tottenham before the start of last season, in a £7 million summer switch from FC Twente.

But this season has been far more productive and it has led Chadli to discuss his desire to remain a Spurs player for years to come. He told The Independent:

“I was mentally stronger this year to come back after a disappointing first year at Tottenham.

“I don’t want to leave a club like this. If ever I leave a club I want to leave it, as we say in French, par la grande porte, not by the back door.”

The Belgian struggled for regular playing time last season and in January the Daily Star reported that Spurs had accepted a bid from Swansea for his services.

In February Chadli confirmed that he had indeed snubbed a move to Swansea in the Daily Mirror, as he wanted to try and prove himself worthy of first -team football at White Hart Lane.

Now the idea of Chadli leaving is highly unlikely. His high-pressing game suits the style Mauricio Pochettino wants his team to play and he has become an integral member of the Tottenham first-team.

Long may it continue.
