Michael Owen predicts Queens Park Rangers v Manchester United

Michael Owen looks ahead to Saturday’s Premier League clash between Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United at Loftus Road.

Michael Owen has backed Manchester United to defeat Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Saturday on Betvictor.com.

The former United striker underlines QPR’s poor record against the Red Devils and predicts Louis van Gaal’s side to pick up all three points at Loftus Road.

“United have an excellent record in the capital and they need to bounce back after their loss to Southampton last weekend,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.

“It is well documented that it is only Rangers’ home form that is keeping them afloat in the PL but they haven’t beaten United at Loftus Road in their last nine games and I think that will be double-figures by five o’clock on Saturday.

“Charlie Austin is one of a number of young English strikers taking the PL by storm this season but his goals might not be enough to save them.”

United will indeed head into Saturday’s game as the favourites and will be expected to win by many football followers.

However, QPR’s chances of staging an upset at Loftus Road cannot be written off just yet, especially as the Manchester outfit appear to have lost some momentum of late.

Van Gaal’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend, and suddenly their top-four chances are not looking as great as they were in December.

United are currently fourth and will need to bounce back in order to move ahead of the rest of the chasing pack.

Although Van Gaal has better players at his disposal, QPR boss Harry Redknapp can summon the fighting spirit of his team which has proved crucial in so many home matches this season.

One should not be surprised if QPR pick up a point against United at Loftus Road.
