Manchester United round-up: Early team news; two January signings reportedly wanted

A selection of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United travel to Queens Park Rangers this afternoon with both sides desperate for the three points.

United lost 1-0 to Southampton last time out and Louis van Gaal’s side will be desperate to get back to winning ways after dropping to fourth in the Premier League.

As for QPR, they lost to Burnley last weekend and will want to avenge their 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford earlier this season.

In early team news, the BBC reports that United striker Robin van Persie is a doubt with an ankle problem while defenders Rafael and Marcos Rojo could feature.

Radamel Falcao was not in the match-day squad last weekend and the report suggests van Persie’s injury could see a return for the on-loan Colombian.

In other news, ESPN reports that United are interested in signing two players this month.

The report claims United want to sign Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne while a new centre-back is also said to be high on the list of priorities, with the usual suspects Mats Hummels, Diego Godin and Ron Vlaar all name-checked in the piece.
