Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has told Sport Magazine that ‘ridiculous’ Chelsea star Eden Hazard is the best player he has ever faced.
Sterling has faced a number of the world’s top stars, including the likes of Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, Toni Kroos and three-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Yet, when asked about his toughest opponent, Sterling opted to stay closer to home and revealed Chelsea’s Belgian wizard Hazard is his number one.
“That defender question has got me in trouble before. Eden Hazard’s the best player I’ve played against, though. He’s ridiculous,” he told Sport Magazine.
The former Lille star has been in excellent form for the Blues this season, scoring eight goals and contributing with a further four assists in 21 Premier League matches.

As per the Opta Stats above, Sterling has some way to go before hitting the consistency levels of the Blues wizard but truth be told he’s not that far off.
Sterling averages more shots per match, and comes out as a close second best in the rest of the key categories such as dribbling, chances created via key passes and ball recoveries.
The England international has huge potential, and boss Brendan Rodgers will be hopeful that his short winter break in the Caribbean will see him return to action on Saturday with his batteries fully charged.
