Leeds boss Redfearn speaks out on Billy Sharp transfer interest

Neil Redfearn adamant Sharp is going nowhere.

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn is adamant Billy Sharp is not for sale, speaking to BBC Radio Leeds.

There has been speculation over the striker's future over the past 48 hours, after the Yorkshire Evening Post reported interest from Championship side Ipswich Town.

Redfearn was quizzed about Sharp's future after Saturday's draw against Birmingham City, and was blunt in his response.

He said simply: "He's a Leeds player. End of."

The declaration should be enough to appease fans the striker will not be following Stephen Warnock in departing the club this month.

Sharp signed last summer and has struggled for regular football, but he has a proven Championship track record.

He came off the substitute's bench with just under half an hour to go against Birmingham, showing he is still very much in the thought process of Redfearn.

While he is getting game time, Sharp will probably not try to force a move, and his head coach's comment should also reassure him he has a future at the club.
