Right back Adam Matthews got the ball rolling for Celtic in the 33rd minute, with the Welshman smashing home a superb goal from the edge of the box, firing a right footed shot into the roof of the net.
And just five minutes into the second half, with teenage midfielder Liam Henderson turning inside the area to guide his shot into the back of the net.
Celtic had a couple of scares late on but managed to come away with a clean sheet, and their win leaves the mjust one point behind Aberdeen, who face Dundee today.
It was just what Celtic needed after their almost two week break, with Ronny Deila's men underlining their title credentials with a vital win.
