Former Derby midfielder Robbie Savage trolls Nottingham Forest, then admits they deserved win

The former midfield destroyer was busy on Twitter this afternoon.

Today saw Nottingham Forest travel to Derby County in the East Midlands Derby, a game that always promises fireworks. Today was no different, as Forest snatched a late win at the iPro Stadium to earn the bragging rights.

It was a late goal from Ben Osborn that won Forest the game, with an earlier strike from Britt Assombalonga bringing the game level.

It came after Derby took the lead early in the game, courtesy of a Forest player. An excellent corner from the right just evaded the head of Chris Martin and Henri Lansbury had little chance of clearing his header from right in front of his own goal.

It was a fact that had Robbie Savage amused. The BBC pundit is a former Derby player, spending three years with the Rams from 2008-2011. With Derby at home, their excellent recent record against Forest and being the in-form team out of the two he was understandably cocky after Lansbury headed into his own net, posting on Twitter:

But he was of course soon silenced by the goals from Forest and he quite gamely swallowed humble pie to the fans he had previously trolled:
