Adryan sends cryptic tweet after absence from Leeds' match-day squad

One of Leeds United's players took to Twitter to send an interesting message in the build-up to the match against Birmingham City.

Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn would have caused more than a few raised eyebrows with his latest team selection.

Leeds went into their match against Birmingham City just two points outside the Championship relegation zone and desperate for a victory to help them climb back up the table as soon as possible.

So when the likes of Scott Wootton and Steve Morison were selected to start while Billy Sharp was on the bench and Adryan was not even named on the bench, it is fair to say it was an interesting team selection.

Adryan is currently on loan at Elland Road and while he has not shown the consistency required in a relegation scrap he still has the ability to produce a moment of magic whenever he plays.

The Brazilian has made 12 appearances for Leeds this season but recently he has either been used sparingly or not at all.

The same happened this weekend and shortly before the team was announced, the attacking midfielder took to Twitter to send a cryptic tweet of his own.

“Happy for one thing and sad for another,” he wrote, and while we cannot be sure what he was referring to, it was interesting to note how soon before the squad was announced that Adryan opted to send his message.

It remains to be seen if the player will still be at Leeds next season, but for all his talent he is not currently being used in a side desperate for creativity and goals.
