QPR v Man Utd - Match Preview, Stats & Team News

QPR have been reliant on their home form so far this season with all of their points coming at Loftus Road, while Manchester United go in search of only their third Premier League win on the road this season.

To be played on Saturday 17th January 2015 at 15:00. Venue: Loftus Road Stadium, London

Odds: QPR 5/1, Draw 16/5, Man Utd 8/13

There was a report this week in the Daily Mirror suggesting that Harry Redknapp could be set for the sack if the home side lose this game. Redknapp quipped saying the journalists could have picked an easier game for him at his pre-match press conference. He will be heartened at least that Manchester United are not in the best of form, as QPR will look to put Loftus Road to its best use once again.

A win for QPR is likely to take them out of the relegation zone given they are only a point from safety. All of their 19 points have come at home so far this season so United should expect a stern test.

The visitors arrive in a position not as comfortable as a few weeks ago having taken six points from their last five games, sliding to fourth in the Premier League and only the one point above Arsenal in the fight for the Champions League places.

It will be interesting to see if Louis van Gaal will select Radamel Falcao for the game given the injury sustained by Robin Van Persie in last week's defeat to Southampton. The Colombian seems to be out of favour again at Old Trafford, with the United boss suggesting he still has a lot to prove to be starting games regularly.

“We know that a result against United will have the table looking a lot healthier. It will set us up much better for going into the back-end of the season.”
Steven Caulker

“We have to play in a difficult stadium, Loftus Road, but we will try to get the three points and we need them after losing. It is a tough game - every game against QPR away is tough - but we will try to be at our best level and come back to Manchester with the three points.”
