Michael Owen has predicted Chelsea to defeat Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday on Betvictor.com.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker seems to believe that Jose Mourinho’s side will pick up the three points at the Liberty Stadium with relative ease.
“Only one side (Sunderland) has prevented Chelsea from scoring so far this season and it is hard to see past another three points for the title favourites,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Cesc Fabregas has more PL assists (14) so far this season than any PL player managed in the whole of 2013/14 campaign (Steven Gerrard had most with 13) and the Spanish magician is having a magnificent season.”
Chelsea will head into Saturday’s game in Wales as Premier League leaders, having picked up 49 points from 21 matches so far this season.
The Blues will be backed by many football followers to at least maintain their two-point advantage over second-placed and defending English champions Manchester City by Monday morning.
Swansea, though, will not be easy pushovers as they have ambitions of their own. Garry Monk’s team are currently ninth in the standings and could find themselves fighting for a place in Europe if they can put together a run of positive results.
The Swans will have the advantage of playing at home, but given the quality Mourinho has at his disposal, Chelsea should be backed to win at the Liberty Stadium.
However, an early goal for Swansea could make it tricky for Chelsea. Perhaps a win for the Swans is a bit too much to ask, but they can certainly pick up a point.
