Leicester City fans finally received the news they had been waiting for on Friday afternoon, with the club confirming that the signing of Andrej Kramaric had been made official.
The Croatian striker, 23, agreed personal terms and completed a medical at Leicester last week, but was unable to train with his new teammates while his UK work permit application was being considered.
Signing from childhood club Dinamo Zagreb on a deal until 2019, the four-time capped international arrives at the King Power Stadium having netted an impressive 28 goals in 31 total appearances over the first half of the season, and could go straight into the line-up for Saturday’s home game against Stoke City.
Speaking to Foxes Player on the club’s official website, the newboy said: “This is another world to Croatia. My first impressions are very good.
“The people that I have met here in Leicester so far, I feel that they live for football. I really think I will enjoy it here.
“I am very excited to be here. I will do my best to show the fans who I am and I will try to score goals.”
Despite his outstanding scoring record in Croatian football, Kramaric no doubt faces a big step up to the Premier League, but plenty of fans seem to believe his introduction could well be the key to avoiding relegation judging from the reaction on Twitter.
