The Real Sociedad manager was dismissed in his side’s 2-2 draw with Villarreal last night in the Copa del Rey.
Former Manchester United boss David Moyes’ dream of taking new club Real Sociedad to the Copa del Rey final ended last night, as the Anoeta club were eliminated from the cup competition by Villarreal.
A 2-2 draw meant the El Madrigal outfit progressed at Sociedad’s expense, in what was an eventful night for the Scottish manager.
With ten minutes remaining in the clash, Moyes was sent off after appealing a number of refereeing decisions, as can be seen in the video below.
The Glasgow-born coach was clearly unhappy at striker Alfred Finnbogason being ruled offside and was forced to jump a barrier to sit with the home fans, where he took up a supporter’s offer of a handful of crisps.
The result means that Moyes can now focus on Sociedad’s La Liga form and keeping the Basque outfit out of the relegation scrap.
Since taking over at San Sebastian, Moyes has improved the club’s fortunes, with the side currently sitting in 12th place in the domestic standings.
