Italian news source TuttoMercatoWeb claims Roma are lining up a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
TMW claims that the move is to compensate for the possible exit of Mattia Destro, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, among other sides.
It would seem to be a good move all round, with Adebayor unlikely to get a decent crack in the Spurs first team under Mauricio Pochettino any time soon.
However, the main sticking point could be his wages.
Palermo were recently rumoured to be interested in signing the striker, but his reluctance to take a pay cut was seen as a sticking point.
The London Evening Standard has reported that Adebayor won’t budge on his £100,000 per week salary and that’s the price Roma will more than likely have to adhere to if Destro leaves and if the reports of their interest in the Tottenham are accurate.
