Should Chelsea try to bring Southampton right-back Clyne to Stamford Bridge?
The January Transfer window is of course now open.
That means plenty of teams will be making plenty of moves and one such team is Chelsea.
On the face of it they do not need to make any changes to their team. They are still the favourites for the PRemier League title, despite a recent wobble, and have incredible strength in depth across the positions.
However, Chelsea should sign someone this summer. That someone should be Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne.
Cesar Azpilicueta got injured at the weekend during the game with Newcastle United at St James Park. The Spanish international has played at right-back most of his career but has been turned into a left-back by Jose Mourinho.
But with him injured Chelsea have just two first-team full-backs at their disposal, Felipe Luis and Branislav Ivanovic.
They need an extra recruit in the position and if Azpi and Luis are the left-back options than Mourinho will need a right-back.
Clyne has been one of the best performers in the Premier League this season and has helped Southampton to third place in the league.
He has even earned his first England cap off the back of his excellent performances.
His addition would be perfect for Chelsea and would be the final piece of the jigsaw regarding the balance Jose Mourinho could have in his team.
Southampton are unlikely to want to sell, but Chelsea could afford to convince them. Why not throw Ryan Bertrand permanently into the deal to sweeten things up?
One thing for sure, with Clyne in their side, Chelsea would have no weaknesses and the title would look likely to be on its way to London.
