Sunderland are sitting just one point above the relegation zone, as things stand.
Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson is under no illusions about where his side's season is heading.
Larsson, though, is still not unduly concerned by their precarious position as he feels that there are a number of other teams involved in the struggle with them.
“You can’t fool yourself and say we’re in no danger whatsoever,” Larsson said to the Sunderland Echo. “We’re in the mix. We know that.
“Half of the table are more or less involved in a relegation fight or whatever you want to call it.”
Sunderland's major problem so far this season has been their lack of goals. The North East outfit have scored just 18 times in 21 games and it has meant they have been able to pick up just three wins to date.
It is a worrying time for supporters of the side, who also had to endure a nerve-racking end to last season - where only a miraculous run of wins saved them.
A similar finish is something that they are desperate to avoid this time around, but only a major up-turn in their form will enable them to climb the table.
